I get the name of my blog from a verse in the Bible, in the small but mighty book of Jude. Jude was one of Jesus’ brothers. He was talking to Christians when he said, “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people” (Jude 1:3, New International Version). I feel like there’s been a whole lot of watering down of the gospel going on lately, and it’s just not right. My goal is to encourage you to consider who Jesus was and to follow Him with your whole heart.

I’m a wife of one, mom of three, and nana of 1. I’m a writer. I’m a follower of Jesus. I’m an editor for Guideposts and the Abide app. I’m a lover of dogs, though we are currently dogless, cats, and various and sundry other animals, only one of which currently lives in my house, sadly. That’s her, Luna, below. I’m an adult orphan, and that may come up every once in awhile in my posts. I worked with Cru, a community of compassionate Christians connecting people with God, for 32 years as a writer, editor, production manager and senior copy editor for their magazine, Worldwide Challenge. before leaving nine years to pursue a full time writing career. I have worked with Guideposts for 4+ years, mostly with the Abide app, but more recently with some of their book products.

I love baseball. During the season that might come up a bit, too. I also love the Raiders. I grew up in the Oakland hills in California’s San Francisco Bay Area with two sisters and one brother. We’re spread way too far out to see each other as often as we’d like, but we connect via Facebook most days. Except for my brother. He doesn’t do Facebook. But his kids do, so I connect with them, anyway. I’ve lived in Orlando, FL for almost 35 years.
